Do a PhD with me

I’m currently accepting applications for PhD study at the University of Melbourne in the Physical Appearance Research Team. You would join a vibrant lab of talented honours students, PhD students, research assistants, visiting students and scholars, and post docs who work together to better our understanding of physical appearance phenomena. Specific PhD topics I am interested in include appearance enhancing substance use (like Ozempic and other GLP-1 receptor agonists) and cosmetic interventions, social media (like TikTok and appearance filters), appearance discrimination (including weight, height, skin colour stigma), and treatment for muscle dysmorphia and eating disorders among sexual minority men. Scholars from undergraduate to PhD student llevel are always welcome to visit us in our lab. Past visitors have come to us from the United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, and Singapore. If your institution is facilitating research exchanges or visits, please write to me to discuss more.

Faculty and researchers are also welcome at the lab and I’d love to talk more about how we could collaborate on a study.
